1st entry of my " Learning Journal "
A new school year has begun and with it comes the " old same things" : expectations, classes, pressure and , most of all, hard work.
Of course, the good things always remains: spend some quality time with friends, new" love" and friendships, and also go out.
This will probably be my last school year of English subject, and I have to confesse that it makes me feel sad, because I really enjoy English not only as a subject but also as a language... but I will also try to continue practising English, besides I know that it will be very helpfull in my future.
About the English classes, right in the first class the teacher told us ( the class) that it would be hard working this year, and as far as I have seen, she really ment it to be... Not that I am complaining, because I think that we must be always improving and superating our expectations, but it is just that it was a little bit difficult, for me, to start. Actually the same happened in the other subjects ( probably because of the vacantions), but now ( since last week) I am back to the school work.
My first group work was composed by: Inês Carvalho, João Machado, Pedro Ramalhate and Norman ( the new student who came from German).
I think the group work, went good, but it could went much better. I guess, it was the fact that we were just back from vancations, and we had some organizing issues.
I, personally, liked the theme( different professions during the centuries) but I think it could be so much enjoyfull if it had been more well explored, which was not.
Anyway, after the presentations most of the groups were changed by the teacher. At first, my group work was : João Machado, Vanessa Costa and Vranda Raja. I was'nt particullary happy with the group, because, in spite of I have never work with it all together, I have had already work with each of them in different groups, and I didn't like it very much.
So, I asked the teacher to change me, and I turned out to exchange with my colleague Cátia: she stayed in my initial group and I stayed in hers. This way, I am now working with José Diogo, Pedro Ramlhete and Sebastian ( the new argentine student).
As far as I can tell, I am enjoying the group and I hope it continues this way..
I guess, it is all for today, and I will write new entries by these days, not only in the Learning Journal section but in the others, too.
