3rd entry of " My writing skills"

Essay proposing solutions to problems:

" Dear Mayor,

I am writing you because I have noticed a big problem - old people in Lisbon, more precisely in Rato, need some occupation in their afternoon time.

Most of them, were just staring at the people who were passing by, sitting on the park bench. Only a few of them, were playing cards or chess but they seemed to be bored. This way, I would like to propose a solution, that in my opinion will improve a lot their routine and consequently their lives. I believe that a paunched could be made for the old people in Rato, with a lot of activities such as: swimming, gym classes to help to avoid heart problems ; an appropriate space to play cards , chess, dominoes and other games, and ICT classes.

I strongly believe that it is our duty to help the older people, because after all, they deserve our respect and they should be seen as " someone" and not " something".
