3rd Learning Journal

Today, I will talk about the presentations of the sketches, that I have already talked about in the others Learning Journals.

This was the moment that every class was expecting, not only to expose their sketch but also to watch the other group's sketches - THE PRESENTATIONS!!!

At the first we watch a " video-scketch" made by Cátia, João M., Vanessa and Vranda Raja. They abordded different themes, such as: Poverty, consumer society, etc.... in my opinion, it was a little unfair, because all the other groups had to present their sketches in the moment of the presentations, and they had the opportunity to " stop" and do " all over again ", in case they mess it up. Although, they tryed to make it up, by questioning the class about their " video-sketch". About their perfomances, I think it is clearly obvious that Cátia ( especially) and Vanessa improved a lot their English, Vranda keeped up the good work and João Machado seemed to put more effort in group's work.

( Then it was my group's presentation that I will discuss later).

After my presentation's group, it was the time for Inês, João C., Norman and Tomás showed what they have got. Basically, they took us to the white house that was eventually bombed. They abborded different themes, such as: Environment, different contrasts between poverty and richness, etc... I think it was a good idea, but they could have explore it a little bit more. About their perfomances, I think they all acted natural and ( I speak for myself) they actually made, for moments, the audience belive that they really were at the White House.

After this three presentations, we watched a sketch made by Catarina Rocha, Joana O, Tlalok and Ricardo. We first watched a video showing different topics: environment, consumer society, poverty, etc.., then they performance two couples. The first was in the 60's ( I guess!) and the second represented the actuality. I have heard that they had a little organizing issues, and i think it showed a little bit in the presentation. Although, they made an interesting presentation, and i must refer the improvement of Catarina in the speaking component. About the other elements, Joana O. keeped up the good work, Ricardo could have acted more espontaneous ( but we are not born actors!) and Tlalok acted natural.

Then, it was time for Filipa, Joana L., Mónica and Raquel show what they have got, and they really did. By using the theme " Seven saints", it was, in my opinion, the best sketch of all the groups. All the elements, did a great , great job.. and my special congratulations to Filipa and Mónica, that improved a lot.

In the next class, we finished the presentation with Ana Morais, João Almeida, Tiago and Susana perfomances.

They first showed us a video, that I actually didn't understand that much , and then they perfome.

In my opinion, the all idea was good, but maybe because they were too nervous, they just ( I speak for myself) couldn't reach it to us. But, like I have told you before, we are not actors.

Although, it was obvious the effort made by the group and, by putting João singing a lyric made by them about the contrasts in the world, they did an original end of presentation.

To sum it up, the all groups's sketches were very good and this was a very interesting task proposed by the teacher, that, this way, instigate and united the all class!
