An article that was proposed to us, by the teacher was : " There is no recipe for success". I have already talked about it in a past learning journal, so I wil now show a description of the " ironmonger's store" that I saw in our field trip to Lisbon.
" When I first saw it, the first word that came to my mind was " Fabulous!".
It was a ironmonger's store that has remained the same since 1910 ( or something), and in a few seconds i felt that IO was actually living in the past century. And it was just surreal!
All over the shelves we could find thousands and thousands of little pieces, some for the the bookshelves doors and others just for personnal collections.
Although the best part came when we entered in the room where the hardware were made. That room was exactly the same since 1910. The walls that were probably white by the time it was built , are now black and grey; the machines were very antiquated and we could " smell" that particular smell of paint and old.
While I was there, I could only imagine the workres that in the 20th century came to that room to earn some money to support their families. The scenario was white and black, and the workers were working with pride.
It was definetely a new and exciting experience, that I would highly recommend to those who like to be back in the old times."
